We hope it’s not too long, as we think it looks fun to play. Eve is a major character and the main antagonist of Branches A and B in NieR:Automata. Shift Up has yet to announce a release date for Project Eve. Here’s the trailer for Project Eve, if you missed it last night: While they’ve shown Project Eve off at the PlayStation showcase, there has been no word either way on whether the game is now exclusive or whether it will also still release on Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. For what it’s worth, Project Eve was originally announced for PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Most importantly, it looks to be a lot of fun. Project Eve has a focus on parkour traversal and stylish, fluid combat. Eve, a paratrooper deployed from the human colony, will adventure through a desolate, ruined Earth and try to take it back from humanity’s greatest enemy if she can. Project Eve is set in the near future, after the remains of the human race have abandoned Planet Earth because their forces lost a battle against alien invaders. That all changed with last night’s trailer, which was the longest and most in-depth look we’ve had at the action game yet. Korean studio Shift Up has been working on Project Eve since 2019, but has shown fairly little. It’s a new hack-and-slash game for the current generation of consoles, which reminds us of all-time landmark classic action titles from PlatinumGames like Bayonetta and NieR Automata. This is similar to the book in which Eve succumbs to evil and temptation, eating the forbidden fruit, resulting in disastrous consequences and the "fall of man".One of the biggest surprises of last night’s PlayStation showcase was just how good Project Eve looks.Unlike Adam, Eve was driven wild with hatred and disgust with androids and their likeness to humans, and became the more powerful of the two. Not only does this unit evolve in its attacks and strategy but also its movement, personality and goals initially being "born" naked with very little capabilities but possessing a natural tendency for aggression. They were both created as the first human representation by the machine network in an attempt to interface with androids. Eve clearly references the figure in the Book of Genesis in the Hebrew Bible as with his brother Adam, though he is depicted as a male instead of a female as in the text.As the player's NFCS systems are damaged during this phase, they can only evade and use Pod fire to bring down Eve. ![]() During the final phase of the fight, Eve goes berserk with rage after the death of Adam and unleashes his power.Eve can use a finisher move if he grabs the player with his extended energy arms. The player actually does not need to climb up to where Eve is standing to deal damage as he will eventually come back down and resume the fight. Once at around half health, Eve creates floating platforms while throwing projectiles at the player to damage and knock them back. This can be evaded or outright stopped by damaging Eve with Pod fire, forcing him to lose his focus and stop his current attack. Throughout the battle Eve makes use of his power by levitating and throwing machinery to damage the player. This enemy unit is encountered 3 times, each being a main story event. ![]()
